20 films to be screened in competition category on Sunday


A total of 20 films will be screened in the competition category on the third day of the 9th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala. Gul directed by Saurabh Sachdeva, Bachchha Saheb by Saikat Sekhareswar Ray, The Bookseller from the Mountains by Suhel Banerjee, Naina by Mithila Hegde,  Page 8 by Thanzeer S. and Uphill  by Varun  Tandons  will be screened in the short fiction category.
Barnali Ray Shukla’s Liquid Borders, Devkanya Lotheta’s No Woman’s Land, Priyamvada Jagia’s Sand Castles/ Raet Ke Mahal, Jalal Ud Din Baba’s  Saving The Saviour, D Dhanasumod‘s Vanishing Island, Neelan Premji’s national award winning film Mother and  Mithun Pramanik’s  Paul Science  will be screened in the short documentary section.
In the long documentary section, Farha Khatun’s  I am Bonnie, Shaunak Sen’s Sleeping Cities and Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s Seraikella Chhau….The Dance The Dancer will be screened.
Typewriter directed by Faisal Rahman will be screened in the Music Video category while Playmate by Sudheer Yoosuf will be screened in the animation category. The Box by Arun Sripadam and Trapped by Sanmargam Suriyamoorthy will also be screened in the animation category on Sunday.
